This is my idea for the Saturday night of #IslandGovCamp - it would need a minimum of about 15 people to want to book, and the maximum number would be about 35.
Who:
#IslandGovCamp attendees, & their family and friends
What:
Hot buffet.
(baked tatties, quiches, meat hotpot, veggie hotpot), scones, bannocks, followed by apple pie and Orkney Cheesecake - all using the finest local ingredients)
It is likely that lively traditional music, and perhaps dancing, and maybe a bit of storytelling might also be feasible.
How much?:
Fixed price (approx £15-£20 excluding drinks and coffee - exact price subject to menu details - if there is a sponsor out there who would like to assist with the cost of the meal, and/or add a drink or 2, this cost may come down).
When:
19:30 for 20:00 on Saturday 26 May 2012 (after an optional, and yet-to-be-planned excursion, as suggested by John Fox)
Where: Judith Glue's Real Food Kitchen, Broad Street, Kirkwall (directly opposite St Magnus Cathedral)
http://www.judithglue.com/shops/realfoodkitchen.htm
Wifi is not normally on offer at this venue, but the management have offered to make it so for this event. I think they may be interested in our views about whether they should offer inclusive wifi to their regular customers!
Input required:
1. Please indicate whether you like the concept, and would like to take part (if you have alternative ideas, please add them to Ideascale in their own right!)
2. Please comment on whether the price sounds OK.
3. Please suggest food items you would particulaly like to see on the buffet (see the link to the Real Food Kitchen for what they normally offer, but if you want to suggest other local ingredients, feel free - cost and availability will be constraints!)
4. Please suggest anything specific for the entertainment which you might like to see (or perform!)
